How to Use
a PowderedDog Food Topper
Three ways to serve it.
Dry, mixed, or lightly moistened.
Three simple ways to make their everyday bowl a little more inviting.

The bowl comes out. The ears perk up. Somewhere between breakfast and the evening walk, this little routine becomes one of your dog’s favorite parts of the day.
A powdered dog food topper fits into that routine without making it complicated. Measure the recommended daily serving, add it to your dog’s usual food, and mix. You can serve it dry, stir it into moist food, or add a little water before mixing. The best starting point is the texture your dog already enjoys.
Start with their regular food
A topper adds something to a meal; it does not replace the meal. Keep a complete and balanced dog food as the foundation, and choose a topper that fits your dog’s dietary needs.
Brothhh Meal Topper combines bone broth protein with five beef organs: liver, heart, kidney, pancreas, and spleen. It brings rich beef flavor and human-grade nutrition from 100% grass-fed, non-GMO beef, with no fillers. Its powdered format lets you mix it into the food your dog already eats.
Different dogs enjoy different textures. Veterinary nutrition guidance explains that moisture and texture can affect how appealing food is to a dog. You do not need to try all three methods at once—start with the simplest one. [1]
01 Sprinkle and stir into kibble
For a dog who loves their usual crunch, keep the preparation familiar.
- Put their normal portion of kibble in a clean bowl.
- Measure the topper with a clean, dry scoop.
- Sprinkle it across the food and stir so it is distributed through the bowl.
Mixing matters. A mound of powder in one spot is different from a little throughout the meal. If powder collects at the bottom and your dog leaves it behind, try the lightly moistened method below at the next meal.
02 Fold into wet or fresh food
If your dog eats a complete and balanced wet or fresh diet, you can mix the measured topper directly into their regular portion.
Use a spoon to fold it through the food, breaking up any pockets of powder. There is usually no need to add water to an already-moist meal. Keep the food and portion familiar while you introduce the topper, so you can notice how your dog responds.
“Fresh” describes the format, not whether a meal provides complete nutrition. If you prepare your dog’s meals at home, follow a diet formulated for them by a qualified veterinary nutritionist; adding organs or a topper does not make an unbalanced recipe complete.
03 Add a little water, then mix
For a softer coating, combine the measured topper with a small splash of room-temperature or lukewarm water. Stir, then mix it through the meal. Add water gradually until the food has the texture your dog prefers.
You do not need boiling water, another broth, or a separate sauce. Plain water keeps the ingredients simple. The extra moisture changes the texture; it does not change how much topper belongs in the bowl.
This is an optional serving method, not a requirement. A dog who enjoys the dry sprinkle can stay with it.

How much Brothhh Meal Topper should you use?
The current Brothhh serving guide is based on your dog’s weight. One scoop is 1 gram.
| Your dog’s weight | Total per day |
|---|---|
| Under 50 lb | 1 scoop · 1 g |
| 50–100 lb | 1½ scoops · 1.5 g |
| Over 100 lb | 2 scoops · 2 g |
Always follow the directions on your bag and your veterinarian’s advice. These amounts apply to Brothhh Meal Topper; other products may have different directions.
Daily means daily, not per meal. If your dog’s serving is one scoop a day and you feed breakfast and dinner, you can divide it into half a scoop at each meal. Changing from a dry sprinkle to a moist mixture does not call for another serving.
Small habits that make the routine easier
- Keep the scoop dry. Measure before adding water, and keep moisture out of the pouch.
- Count all the extras. Treats, chews, and toppers contribute to the day’s intake. Veterinary nutrition guidance generally recommends keeping treats and toppers together to no more than 10% of daily calories. A small scoop is not a reason to add unlimited extras. [1]
- Give the bowl a fresh start. Wash bowls and measuring utensils after use. Keep dry food sealed in its original packaging in a cool, dry place, and refrigerate moist leftovers promptly rather than leaving them out. [2] [3]
A few good questions
Does powdered dog food topper need water?
No. Brothhh Meal Topper can be sprinkled onto regular food and mixed in. Water is an option if your dog prefers a moister texture.
Can I use it every day?
Brothhh’s label provides a daily serving. Follow that amount rather than adding an extra scoop each time you fill the bowl. Check with your veterinarian first if your dog has a medical condition or follows a prescribed diet.
Is it suitable for a dog with a beef allergy?
No. Brothhh Meal Topper contains beef organs and bone broth protein. Choose ingredients that fit your dog’s needs and ask your veterinarian about a suitable alternative.
What if my dog suddenly stops eating?
A new loss of appetite deserves attention, even if a topper makes a meal more tempting. Contact your veterinarian about a sudden or persistent change, especially if your dog also seems unwell. For familiar fussiness, our guide to feeding a picky dog offers more mealtime ideas.
